Collide: Google präsentiert Collaborative Cloud IDE

Google präsentiert unter dem Namen „Collide“ eine neue Cloud basierte Collaborative IDE, mit der gemeinsam, verteilt und ortsunabhängig an Java Quellcode entwickelt werden kann. Das schreibt (noch) Google Software Engineer Scott Blum auf seinem Google+ Account.

Hintergrund

Scott kündigt in dem Beitrag seinen Abschied von Google an, da Google die Entwicklungsabteilung in Atlanta auflöst. Eines der Projekte an dem Scott beteiligt war, wurde parallel mit der Schließung des Google Büros in Atlanta ebenfalls beendet. Allerdings werden Teile von diesem Projekt nun in ein neues Open Source Projekt überführt.

Das Projekt hat den Namen „Collide“ (collaborative IDE). Dabei handelt es sich um ein Web-basierter Code-Editor, mit dem gemeinsam an Software-Projekten gearbeitet werden kann und richtet sich an Java Entwickler.
